Privacy Policy
The Legal bit
This is the part that is normally written by the lawyers, so they are typically not that much fun. Hopefully, you'll find ours a little different and much more informative.
Now, this stuff is important. So please take a look and if you have any questions please get in touch with our DPO, at DPO@consultantslikeus.co.uk
Who are we?
In relation to Data Protection, We are the Data Controller (which means we are also the Processor) Sounds scary right?!... Don't worry, it just means we are responsible for collecting your Data and setting the rules of how it will be processed. Of course, we are committed to complying with the UK’s Data Protection Law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the protection of Personal Data, as well as the principles of data security in the configuration of our services, so you have nothing to worry about! But if you are concerned, we can be contacted at DPO@consultantslikeus.co.uk to answer all your questions on Data Protection.
What Data is being collected and processed?
The purpose for processing your personal information is to allow us to process your orders (why else would you give us your details?! 🙄) The lawful basis for the processing of this Personal Data is deemed to be in your ‘Legitimate Interests’, as we will only be able to complete the order if you provide the data we need. This data is;
-
Your Title
-
First name(s), surname or company name (including representation as the case may be)
-
Email address
-
Payment details
We will then process your details through our internal systems (that's the computer systems, not my internal organs. That would be strange!) to enable us to complete your order. We do use the third party system 'Stripe' to process your payment details, so at no point will your payment details be held by us. In addition we also utilise the system 'Kajabi' to deliver our training resources. These are established and internationally recognised businesses who have demonstrated their security and data protection credentials time and time again.
At this point it's also important to say that any email communications we send will comply with the Privacy and E-communications Regulation ("PECR" - Stop giggling at the back! 😅) But no direct marketing activity will be undertaken unless you have previously provided us with Consent to contact you.
How do we receive information about you?
We receive your Personal Information from different sources:
-
When you voluntarily provide us with your personal details when you contact us via web, email or phone.
-
From third-party providers, services and public registers (for example, Companies House).
Sharing of Data with other Data Controllers/Processors
We use Wix & Microsoft 365 cloud platforms. Neither have access to your personal information due to their own security policies & processes.
The data you share with us is only used by us. Should there be a need to discuss your personal data with a 3rd party then we will discuss and agree that with you beforehand.
As stated previously we use third-party providers to manage the course and resources we provide, and the payment process. Any questions about these, please do get in touch.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have a number of rights, which you are free to exercise at any time. These rights are;
-
Right of Access by the Data Subject (Subject Access Request)
-
Right to rectification
-
Right to erasure (‘right to be forgotten’)
-
Right to restriction of processing
-
Notification obligation regarding rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing
You have the right to access any personal information that I process about you and to request information about:
(Apparently, you also have the right to remain silent, but I think that's a different set of rights so let's move on).
Personal data we hold about you
Now this has nothing to do with all the 'dirt' that we hold on people 😂, it's just related to the information we mentioned above. That's all we hold... and of course, you were paying attention and read it right?! If you didn't, go back to the start... do not collect £200 and do not pass Go!.
But seriously (because this is the serious section) you can contact us directly - DPO@consultantslikeus.co.uk, and we'll tell you everything we have on you. There will be no charge for this 'Subject Access Request' but if you log multiple requests, or the request is seen as excessive in nature, then there may be nominal charge which we will request to cover the administration of your request.
How You Can Access And Update Your Information
If you believe that we hold any incomplete or inaccurate data about you, you have the right to ask us to correct and/or complete the information and we will strive to correct it as quickly as possible. After all, there's not much point in our having your contact details if we can't contact you! So if you think it's wrong please get in touch and email me at this address - DPO@consultantslikeus.co.uk
Retention
Are you still reading this? Ok.... so you might like to know how long will the Data be stored for?
We will take steps to erase any Personal Data that is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it is collected or otherwise processed. We will only retain data in order to satisfy legal requirements, and will periodically check with you to ensure you're still happy for us to hold your data.
Right to Complain
You have a Right to Complain, and we exercise ours all the time! 🤣. But if you have a complaint about any aspect of Data Protection (related to our services please, not Data Protection in General - we can't be held responsible for the law!) or if you feel your privacy has been breached by us, we would like to hear from you.
To help us investigate and resolve your concerns as quickly as possible, please contact us directly at DPO@consultantslikeus.co.uk, (you should have memorised this address by now😁)
But if you are unhappy with our response to you, you have the right to complain to the Supervisory Authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can call the ICO on 0303 123 1113 or by visiting their website: https://ico.org.uk/. They're lovely people, and we know they would tell you how they love this Privacy Notice (because I asked them, and they said they did! : ))
Are you STILL reading?! Ok... you've got stamina, but pay attention, here comes the techy bit ...
